I always struggle to recall the regions of different countries and in particular their position in relation to each other. It would be handy if Google Maps had such a feature, but in its absence I decided to doodle some simple political maps which might aid such recall. This idea aims not for precise cartographic accuracy but more of an aide memoire for the type of quiz questions that take the form of “what state lies between X and Y?”, and so on. So with this concept established, in the first of what will probably me an irregular series, here is a simple political map of Germany.
